The foliage of this compact, evergreen shrub is attractively variegated, but in spring, the new growth emerges with a pinkish red flush. At around the same time, pendent clusters of white, lily-of-the-valley-like flowers appear, further adding to the overall appeal. Ideally suited to pots (filled with ericaceous compost), or front of border positions, it's perfect for brightening up a small patio or courtyard garden.

How to care for Pieris japonica Little Heath:
