Any tender plants, such as palms and spider plants, put outside for a summer holiday need to be brought back indoors before the weather starts to get cool at night. Check over the plant carefully for signs of pest and disease attack and remove any dead or dying leaves. Then take the plant out of its pot and give the container a clean using garden disinfectant. Rinse the container and replace the plant, water well and allow to drain before moving it inside.
