Description

Ideal for smaller spaces, this Katherine Wheel table top barbecue lets you grill with precision, giving you excellent control over the cooking heat.

Based on a traditional Argentine asado, the vintage-style mechanism resembles a piece of Victorian machinery. A simple turning wheel lets you raise and lower the grill plate so you can choose the heat intensity. Raise it up to light the fire and lower it to your preferred height once the coals have turned white, ready for cooking.

Designed to sit on a table or work top, it makes the perfect addition to an outdoor kitchen space. The whopping 68cm x 56cm grill plate is bigger than most family barbecues, so nobody will go hungry. It’s also easy to keep meat and vegetarian foods well apart.

Expertly handmade in Monmouthshire, this beautiful barbecue already looks like a classic. With age and exposure to the elements, it’ll rust and weather to gain even more character.

Using your barbecue

Designed for use with charcoal (but not house coal). Make a fire on the base and burn for at least half an hour before you want to use it (the first half hour of burning produces the most smoke). Ideally, leave an hour before cooking to allow embers to form.

Caring for your barbecue

Your barbecue is designed to stay out in all weathers but will develop an even rusty patina. This will not affect its use or longevity but if you like, you can clean it up with a wire brush then rub over a coating of oil or WD40. Clean out any ash from the barbecue after use.

Warning:
For outdoor use only. Keep children and pets away from the barbecue when lit. Always position away from buildings or combustible objects on a safe, level, non-flammable surface. Only for use with charcoal. Never leave the barbecue unattended or move when lit. Allow to cool before emptying any ash.

Please note: these are handmade from sheet steel which has naturally occurring blemishes, so there may be slight variations in the forging and finish. The barbecue will begin to rust immediately and will not maintain its black finish. However, this will not affect its long-term durability.
