  • Position:
  • Soil: fertile and moisture retentive

A short lived perennial with incredible leaves that physically pull back when touched. A true wonder of the natural world. Grow indoors on a bright windowsill all year round.
Winner of an RHS Award of Garden Merit for reliability and good performance. Part of the seed range produced by Mr Fothergill’s Seeds in partnership with the RHS.

  • Growing Instructions:
In medium-sized pots of compost, sow thinly, cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20ºC. Germination may be slow and erratic. Seedlings appear 14-42 days
  • Care:Remove cover when seedlings appear. Thin out to approx. 5cm apart, leaving around half a dozen seedlings to grow on. Water sparingly, allowing compost to almost dry out between waterings.

  • Sow: January to December

  • Flower: July to October

  • Approximate quantity: 100 seeds.
  • Tip: Touching the plants too often can drain them of energy and shorten their lives. An occasional feed with a weak liquid fertiliser is recommended
