Porcelain-blue, star-shaped flowers crowd the upright flowerspike in spring, filling the surrounding air with their sweet perfume. A wonderful addition to pots and window-boxes, it also looks lovely planted in clumps or drifts throughout the border. Plant it near a pathway or entrance, so the scent can best be appreciated. - Garden care: Once the flower spike has faded, cut it back to the base and start feeding the plant with a high potash fertiliser. If they are kept well fed and you can resist the urge to remove the foliage until it has died back completely, it is possible that the bulbs will produce more flowers in the following years. For safety reasons always use gloves when handling these plants.
- Harmful if eaten/skin irritant
