Good strong obelisk-just what we wanted and also a good height-so many end up looking lost in a flower bed, not these.

I bought two 8ft obelisks to support Trachelospermum jasminoides at the back of a border, and wanted something strong, that would last. These are solid and well-made, very good quality, and look good in the garden. They are quite heavy (a good sign!) and it needed two of us to assemble them, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. They recommended painting the nuts and bolts with a suitable anti-rust metal paint. Highly recommended.

Hi, is the height measure (e.g. 8ft) above the ground or do I need to allow for some to go into the soil? Thanks.

Jenny

Hello, The height stated is the above ground section, each obelisk has legs that extend a foot below ground for stability. Hope this helps!

Andy

What is the diameter of the 8' obelisk at the base? I want to replace a rotting old wooden support but would need to feed the existing rose up through the middle after giving it a fairly drastic prune.

Snakebark

Hi there, The diameter of the base is 45cm across. I hope this helps

Would this be strong enough for a wisteria in its early growth? I have a slow growing type that would look better with some structure!

Alison

Hello, Yes it would, but a wisteria will soon out-grow this obelisk - and you will then have a tricky time trying to unravel the twining stems.

The longer I go on growing my own veg, the more support I need.It was all so simple when I started. All I needed was a few little wigwams. You know the kind of thing; stick five bamboo canes in the ground in a rough circle, tie the tops together and you
